The Strategic Business Development, Senior Advisor oversees the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments; identifies volume and strategic customers; and develops partnerships. Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities, develops strategic direction from market information, and creates compelling market analysis presentations. May conduct make-versus-buy analysis from a partnership/merger/acquisition perspective

Preferred candiates will reside in the Central or Eastern timezones and be able to travel 50%

Responsibilities

  • Leverages broad expertise and unique knowledge to identify new market segment opportunities and potential business partners and make recommendations on a path forward to leadership

  • Communicate with the business development team and coordinate reporting for the monthly Board report

  • Achieve North American sales goals by developing new accounts and negotiating and closing deals.

  • Build and manage a robust, active sales pipeline to ensure continuing commercial success.

  • Independently develops and implements sales call plans and account strategies to:

  • Drive prospects to close, keep leads warm while the decision making process is underway and implement tactics to shorten the decision making process.

  • Penetrate new and current prospects through direct sales calls and attendance at conferences where target decision makers will be present.

  • Continually fill the pipeline with potential new opportunities.

  • Create and implement account plans to extend and retain business with current TransTrackerâ„¢ customers and their affiliates.

  • Work with others in the Sales Team to ensure that sales activities in North America can be leveraged to support the market penetration plan for territory.

  • Provide market insight to others on the Sales Team and the Executive Team that can be used to:

  • Develop new product ideas and recommendations for product improvements which may come from customer feedback where risks and benefits are evaluated

  • Identify opportunities for product simplification and standardization

  • Understand competitive threats and leverages expertise to create competitive strategies

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four (4) year college or university. A degree in marketing or other business-related field is preferred

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in business development or sales - preferably in manufacturing

  • Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent teamwork

  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex information (scientific and technical journal articles, financial reports and legal documents). Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form at all levels of the organization.

  • Math Ability: Consistent with a degree from a four (4) year college or university and training through working experiences

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Equivalencies:

  • All Microsoft Office Products

  • Experience with a CRM software program
