We are looking for a Cloud SysOps Sr. Engineer to join our team to help continue to evolve our

infrastructure offerings with new technology and innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will be

comfortable with DevOps best practices as well as creating and updating automation and flows for tools

& cloud infrastructure. This position will be part of the SW Engineering Tools & Process (SETP) team and

strike a perfect balance of operations and engineering work ensuring that we build stable and resilient

systems to provide our customers with enterprise grade services.

This is a Hybrid position. You will be required in the office in Mississauga, Ontario 3-4 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, highly performant, cutting-edge technologies for our

    software development tooling cloud platform.

  • Proficient in planning and implementing end-to-end automations for building and

    maintaining advanced always-on infrastructure.

  • Contribute to establishing and driving adoption of development standards around

    continuous integration by adopting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Infrastructure as a

    Service (IaaS) best practices, including continuous & automated testing.

  • Develop processes and standards to automate the testing and delivery of resilient and

    secure infrastructure in a timely and repeatable fashion using configuration management

    principles.

  • Use tools like Terraform, Helm, or other configuration management tools to provide a

    reproducible and controlled environment.

  • Translate business requirements to determine appropriate system solutions.

  • Execute technical projects: present proposals, gather requirements, and drive progress once

    approved, including hands-on participation as needed toward successful implementations.

  • Work closely with other subject matter experts (i.e. Security, Unix, Windows, Solutions

    Architecture, GCP, Storage, Backup, Network, and Database specialists).

  • Implement new tools leveraging container and related technologies for SETP’s internal

    applications, as well as provide a platform for our engineering customers.

  • Generate documentation and network architecture diagrams for installed systems and their

    configurations.

  • Perform knowledge transfers to peers as required for new and existing systems.

  • Administration infrastructure servers used by internal teams and customers.

  • Perform major & minor upgrades for engineering tooling applications (Jira, Artifactory, etc.).

  • Maintaining real-time proactive monitoring of internal applications & infrastructure.

  • Maintain existing and generate new as needed monitoring metric dashboards.

  • Actively participate in significant outage incidents, ensuring that root-cause analysis is

    identified, and knowledge gained is applied for process improvement.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 6+ years work experience

  • The candidate should have in depth knowledge of Linux systems administration, networking, and security. This should include automated configuration, state management, and orchestration across systems.

  • Experience with configuration management driven administration using tools such as Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.

  • 3 years plus experience with Cloud platform and services such as GCP (Preferred), AWS, or Azure.

  • Experience working with containers and container orchestration services.

  • Solid programming and scripting skills. Preferred experience with YAML, Python, Groovy, or JavaScript.

  • Proven deployment and implementation of a CI/CD system using Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub or other similar tools.

  • Experience managing APIs (monitoring, control etc.) for Infrastructure and users.

  • Proven experience researching, building, testing, and deploying automation solutions to production.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and optimizing cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with Elastic Stack or other data aggregation/monitoring/search/indexing solutions.

  • Quick learner, Detail oriented; Demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work.

  • Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others.

  • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment, High sense of urgency.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously.
