Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading a cross functional team of Systems and SW Engineers, Test Engineers, Operations, etc. from initial concept to deployment. Meets complex program goals for product performance, quality goals, regulatory compliance requirements, cost, schedule and development budget. Responsible for working with Product Management, Marketing, and Experience Designers to define the product, solidify the business case, and author the product and experience specifications. Given our multitude of design and development partners, you will participate with negotiations involving Business Development and Legal

Responsibilities:

  • Help define requirements with PdM and work with Eng to scope what is needed with respect to technology. TPM should then help drive the gaps identified in technology, to closure. This will provide a more accurate scope of a program.

  • The ability to make a “big picture” technical decision by digging into the tradeoffs and compromises along with performance and costs.

  • The ability to ask technical questions to probe and understand the underlying risks or issues that may impact other parts of the system.

  • Provide guidance when reviewing issues reported during the product HW and SW validation.

  • Drive benchmarking activities of the competitive products vs Zebra and be able to articulate the shortcomings of the product and drive the team to take action to close the gaps.

  • Drive front and back-end lesson learned

  • Integral part of the voice of the customer and should have the ab ility to translate customer problems into solution requirements.

  • Lead technical design discussion across functional teams.

  • Will be responsible for the execution of multiple moderate to large scope projects.

  • Programs will be complex in nature with cross-functional teams in multiple locations

  • Responsible for all aspects of program planning and execution fully autonomously

  • Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring program completion, i.e., product on schedule and within budget constraints. Owns regular meeting coordination, facilitation, and documentation of progress.

  • Proactively identifies cross-functional impacts of decisions, project plans, and execution.

  • Balances scope, schedule, and budget considerations to adjust the project w/minimal impact to the business. Understands the business objectives of the business unit and program.

  • Assumes self and indirect project team’s accountability for program success against the objectives.

  • Drive execution of solutions inclusive of concept definition, requirements validation, architecture specification, and governance compliance to our Application Lifecycle Management framework.

  • Leads system integration planning, release management, and planning for demonstrations, proof of concepts and pilots.

  • Organizes and presents business, technical and program reviews/status to Senior Leadership using digital media, dashboards and JIRA agile project management tools

  • Prepare and influentially present status updates and other deliverables to senior level audiences

  • Independently engages additional resources as needed to address obstacles/delays.

  • Proactively provides recommendations for issue resolution. Adjusts the plan as delays/obstacles are experienced.

  • Establishes operational objectives and delegates assignments to achieve business results

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of all PM techniques. Utilizes PM tools & techniques in scheduling & staffing plans with an understanding of task duration and dependencies.

  • Develops comprehensive risk management plans.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of development processes and product launch scope and activities.

  • Develop and protect intellectual property; be well versed with IP fundamentals.

  • Team leadership for scaled Agile cross-functional innovation teams. Contribute to and promote the development of agile skillset and capabilities within Zebra. Execute multiple limited scope projects simultaneously or a large program with senior manager’s guidance utilizing modern project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness

  • Independently coordinates deliverables and project assets to assist the project team. Personally, anticipates and addresses obstacles or issues that are moderate to significant in severity and escalates complex issues to management for assistance. Independently engages additional resources as needed to address obstacles or delays. Adjusts the plan per management guidelines as delays or obstacles are experienced.

  • Independently building relationships and working across all relevant areas of the solution business including Sales, Services, IT, Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree, or related fields with 8 + years Engineering/Program management and Scrum Master experience for products in fast paced environment. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience with hardware product development and developing programs from concept to production.

  • Experience with software development best practices including Scaled Agile, TDD and Continuous Integration; a track record of applying these methodologies

  • Experience with Cloud development and Software/Services development integration, as well as mobile application development for Android or iOS.

  • Experience working independently and as part of a team to solve difficult technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges; well versed in risk management practices

Salary: USD 133000.00 - USD 199400.00 Yearly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
