This role leads solution engineering teams within the Enterprise Software business unit. Responsibilities include overseeing the evaluation, design, development and support consistent with customer, product, operational, and regulatory requirements. Collaborates to define the system architecture, and ensures the integrity of the design. Has overall responsibility for executing and delivering a solution, including configuration, automation, security and driving continuous improvement. Understands DevOps and can deliver CI/CD, automation scripts, performance tests, and monitoring tools capable of operating solutions with minimal manual maintenance. Evaluates work upon completion to ensure objectives have been met and drives functional excellence initiatives. Ensures that the team meets the critical success factors and ongoing customer success management. Works effectivity in a fast-paced, global environment supporting high-demand solutions.
Directs the day-to-day activities of a global engineering solutions team, consisting of software developers, test automation, and DevOps.
Leads solutions projects, consisting of cloud-based software and edge-based hardware
Work directly with Sr. Leaders at Fortune 100 customers to ensure joint success on projects
Creates detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, manpower and potential trade-offs
Hire, train and mentor first-line functional managers and engineers
Collaborates with customers, product managers, program managers to ensure the successful delivery of committed plans
Drives functional excellence initiatives that improve efficiencies, reduce costs and cycle time, and increase customer satisfaction
Provides technical leadership and drives strategic initiatives, including pan-Zebra
Leverage of nearshoring and offshoring as needed
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate computer science or engineering discipline preferred
8+ years’ experience with a focus on cloud software, site reliability engineering, and/or enterprise architecture
Excellent leadership skills with 5+ years’ experience leading engineers and technical managers
Proven experience of executing and delivering a product or solution through the full development cycle – from concept, through release, to support.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to distill complex technical subjects in order to present updates to executive leaders
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of cloud technologies, including Google Cloud Platform, Kafka, DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Apigee, etc.
Proven experience establishing and managing off-shore and near-shore engineering teams a plus
Working knowledge of the Agile Scrum development model a plus
Working knowledge of development, scripting, and using monitoring tools for cloud development a plus
Experience operating a high-availability cloud-based solution a plus
