Zebra Technologies Supply Chain Planner I in Buffalo Grove, Illinois


Responsible for all aspects of purchasing and production planning. Additionally, building on supplier relationships, negotiation, expediting, maintenance of procurement system and requesting quotes for new and existing parts.


  • Review all scheduled production to insure materials, tooling’s, and supplies availability and/or communicate needs to insure the flow of parts from supporting production.

  • Review daily production reported; advise deviation from schedule to management and resolve with manufacturing supervisor.

  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.

  • Continuous improvement and saving projects implementation for his / her area of responsibility.

  • Close communication with master scheduler of any inventory level change that might impact production operation.

  • Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.

  • Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications.

  • Performs other related duties as needed and assigned.


  • Required Education:

  • High School or equivalent experience.

  • Preferred Work Experience (years):

  • 1+ years in manufacturing environment with relevant experience

  • Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.

  • Must have strong problem solving abilities.

  • Proficient computer skills required including Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.

  • Must be able and capable of dealing with multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
